RAVE SOCIAL DISTANCING FESTIVAL: THE CORONA CANTATA

Read more THE CORONA CANTATA: A Radio Play Lyrics by Joan Liman  Music by Leonard Bernstein WOMAN: Corona, the most frightening word I ever heard – Corona, Corona, Corona, Corona… All the frightening sounds of the world in a single word Corona, Corona, Corona, Corona… MAN: Corona! My favorite beer’s called Corona But suddenly that name Will never mean the same To me. WOMAN: Don’t shake hands Do fist bumps, rub elbows or click heels Cross hands over your heart, but stand six feet apart… or more! MAN: No touching No more bear hugs or soulful kissing Use Purell – what the hell? – it’s gone missing! WOMAN: A question – Are there other options? Pray tell me. MAN: Try vodka – Some say make your own using vodka WOMAN: But there’s one caveat That somebody forgot To add— You need to Check labels when making your purchase Too little alcohol And it won’t work at all - Because – MAN: The content Of the booze that is needed in it Must exceed an acceptable limit WOMAN: If I’d known, I would not have raced off to Costco... But I went And bought out the store’s fifty bottles Each only 80 proof A real colossal goof for sure MAN: But guess what? Though cafes and bars are now closed down And I’ve no frigging app to order beer on tap - to go... I feel safe, Hunkered down in my home containment Thanks to vodka and streamed entertainment Corona, I’m done with that beer named Corona! WOMAN: Now I’m a fan of that fabulous brand – - named Smirnoff!

"I Wanna Be A Statistic"

Read more I WANNA BE A STATISTIC Sung by Bart Shatto. Special lyrics by Michael Colby. Based on "I Wanna Be a Producer" (Music & Lyrics by Mel Brooks, from the musical THE PRODUCERS). Videography by Michael Yeshion Photography. Piano accompaniment by Phil Reno. Suggested and Produced by Neal Rubinstein. Lyrics: "I spend my life with FOX news And Talk Ra-di-o. My Facebook page then STOCKS news Snopes readers call “faux.” I have a willing desire When I listen to Trump— Singing among his choir — To climb his ledge…and jump. I wanna be a statistic— Try Hydroxychloroquine now. I’m feeling so optimistic— Toasting with a bleach brown cow. (Mmmm!) I wanna be a statistic, Raise his polls to fevered heights. I try to be re-alistic— Ignore the law and human rights! I wanna be a statistic (Look ma! No gloves) Don’t say I sound fatalistic— We’re just doing what he’d like. I wanna be the producer Who reopens Broadway too, Big hit revival producer: A brand-new DEATHTRAP might do. I’m like my hero—sadistic— Go without a mask, then see If I can make a statistic Of the rest of you—HAAAA—FROM me.” I will be at his convention, Forge ahead and spread disease, Though now in Tulsa, they mention He was as popular as fleas! Let me decree, I wanna be The sickest, thickest, lick-his-boot statistic in this nihilistic current world. I wanna fight for our freedom With a MEGA cap and a gun. Meet Neo-Nazis and lead ‘em! If we’re killed, we’ll still have fun. I wanna be a statistic Like Confederates and mobs. Gonna curse and worse, defying sanity, Make the headlines on Sean Hannity. You’ll see, I’ll be Among the free Who Lose lives—instead of jobs. (SPOKEN:) Should I heed the signs of climate change, refute the Constitution AND Mitt Romney, denounce those on the Hill who now say “Heil.”. Nah! It’s my Party and I’ll do what I wanna. My yugest characteristic Is to do just what he’ll say. I wanna be a statistic Though I may die by Voting Day."
